Training & Education FQAs
Q: If my Foundations' training is more than a year old, do I need to take it again?
A: No! For Paths to QUALITY, you only need to prove (with a certificate) that you have taken the Foundations' training. However, you can retake this training once a year, if you would like it to count towards your annual training hours.
Q:Are there trainings that do NOT count towards my annual training hours?
A: Unfortunately, yes! Some of the trainings that do not count include, but are not limited to: Orientation 1 & 2, CPR/First Aid/ Universal Precautions, and mentoring time. Be sure to talk to your mentor if you have questions regarding countable training hours.
Q: As a Director, I provide In-Service trainings for my staff. Can this count towards training hours?
A: Yes, as long as you provide a certificate that included the title and date of training, clock hours, your signature, and the agenda (on the back). However, these training hours only apply to staff, not you as the Director.
Q: As a Center Director, how can I meet the CDA education standard when my staff's CDAs continue to expire?
A. There are several ways to meet this standard. Child Care Solutions' trainings, approved online programs, CEUs, and college courses can help your staff stay current or work towards renewal of their CDAs. Remember, for level 2 centers, only 25% of staff (including the Director) needs to have a current CDA. For level 3 centers, 50% of the staff (including the Director) needs a current CDA.
